How to Use the Zoom Software?
The program is paid: the cost of the “Professional” plan is $ 15 per month; the price of the “Business” tariff is $ 20 per month. There is a free tariff plan “Basic” with restrictions: organizing up to 100 participants, holding group conferences no more than 40 minutes.
The utility runs on the Windows operating system (32 and 64 bit). The interface is fully translated into many languages. To start working with the Zoom program, you need to download the program and register a new account in the system. The utility has an option that allows you to start a new conference. After launching this tool, a window will open displaying a picture from the connected webcam.
If necessary, you can enter an audio conference if you do not currently have a webcam connected to your computer. There is a separate option that allows you to stop the video, or choose another camera: for example if the laptop has two webcams – integrated and third-party.
You can manage participants at zoom meaning: add new ones or exclude unnecessary ones. You can open a chat for text correspondence or start recording the conference on your computer to be able to view it later. Another option in the program is “Login”. This tool allows you to connect to a conference. To do this, you must specify an ID, as well as enter your nickname, which will be displayed to other participants. You cannot connect audio or turn off video from the webcam.
The next useful section in the settings is “Sound”. Here you need to adjust the speaker and microphone: volume level, select the device for output and sound capture. You can activate the automatic volume control function.

Here it is necessary to specify a subject, to establish the date and time of the beginning of carrying out, to choose the duration. You can also check the “Recurring Conference” box if you plan to hold it every week. There is a tool for selecting the time zone.
Next, create a new ID or use a personal number. You can set a password to prevent other users from connecting to this conference. There is an option that allows you to disable the video image of the event organizer and participants. A sound control tool is available. You can add a scheduled conference to your calendar: Outlook, Google Calendar, or any other calendar you use.
You can deploy advanced settings separately. Here are additional options: turn on the waiting room, log in before the organizer, activate the sound of participants at login, and automatic recording of the conference on a local computer.
Another useful option that is in the Zoom program is “Screen Demonstration”. The function allows you to show the conference participants a desktop. For example, you can use this option to show PowerPoint presentations.
